83,323 miles on my 97. I changed my first belt at 53,000 and it didn't really need it. You will get little white line cracks on the outsdide but that's no problem. You say the teeth are "rounding out". That doesn't seem right. Especially if your maintaining proper tension. Are you sure your not just paranoid? I used to (still am sometimes) be real anal about percieved "symptoms" with my bikes. Some joker would post that some so and so part would absolutely fail at a certain mileage and I would be all paranoid about it. More often than not, I would exceed the mileage and the part never failed. Anyway, just enjoy the damn thing and when and if your belt breaks, buy a new one. Ride safe
